CCCC Staff

COMAR 07.04.02 of the Maryland State Child Care Association Regulations governing Child Care Center licensing requires all staff to complete a medical form for eligibility to work with children and fingerprinting for background check. Requirements also state that aides have a minimum of six hours of approved continued training each year. Teachers and Directors of centers are required to have a minimum of twelve hours. State regulations also require one staff per 20 children be certified in First Aide and CPR. The center board requires all staff to hold current First Aid and CPR certifications.

Staff Development

Accreditation by the Maryland State Department of Education requires additional training by teachers to work toward a degree in elementary or early childhood education. Teachers are required to be credentialed by MSDE, Maryland Child Care Administration's Office of Credentialing.
