Emergency Closings
Inclement Weather and School Closings: In the past, Christ Church Children's Center has been closed on days that Frederick County Public Schools were closed due to weather conditions. In trying to be as accessible as possible, if road conditions do not pose a threat, the Center will be open even though schools are closed. In the event of weather-related delays and early dismissals, the Center will assess the road conditions and make every effort to be open on time if at all possible. Please understand that the safety of our staff and your child are our first priority in these situations. If road conditions become hazardous after you have dropped off your child, you will be contacted and asked to make arrangements to have your child picked up as quickly as possible so that our staff can safely get home.
Please check the Center's answering machine, or our Homepage chalkboard, in cases of inclement weather to determine if Christ Church Children's Center will be open.
**Tuition is due regardless of inclement weather, as full-time staff is paid for these days
Arrivals and Dismissals
Christ Church Children's Center will be open at 6:30 each morning for the children's arrival. Please do not bring your child before 6:30 am, as staff are preparing for the day. Please escort your child into and out of the building using the side ramp entrance.
Parents are responsible for their children before they enter and after they leave their classroom. When dropping off and picking up your child, please be certain that you or an authorized adult signs him or her in and out before departing each day. Do not allow your child to enter the building unattended.
Please advise your child's teacher or the Director if someone other than an authorized person will be picking up your child on a particular day. Persons authorized are those on the child's Emergency Card. We will not release children to unauthorized persons.
For security reasons, please keep us informed about any changes in your child's custody status.
Late Policy
Please keep in mind that Christ Church Children's Center closes at 6:00 pm. Parents who arrive to pick-up their child after 6:00 pm will be assessed a late fee of $10.00 for every five minutes after 6:00 pm. Early Learning Program ends at 11:30 am. Parents arriving after either of thsese times will be assessed the same late fee. Three late pick-ups could result in a child's dismissal from the program.
Illness and Absence
Just as you would with school, please keep your child home when they exhibit symptoms of illness. If the symptoms develop while at the Center, a parent will be contacted and expected to pick up the child within a reasonable amount of time. Your child should be symptom free for at least 24 hours before returning to the Center. Please call the Center to inform your child's teacher if he or she is going to be absent. Tuition is due regardless of the attendance of your child. Please notify us if your child becomes ill with a contagious illness or disease.
Medication
Childcare providers are permitted to administer prescription and non-prescription medication ONLY if written permission has been supplied by the parent. If your child requires any type of medication, his or her teacher or the Director can provide you with the necessary paperwork.
Health Forms
There are several health forms that the State of Maryland requires submitted by the time your child begins attending the Center. These forms are included in your registration packet:
Transportation
Kindergarten and school-age children will be transported to and from Middletown Primary and Elementary Schools. This service will be provided by FCPS or a qualified CCCC staff person. A signed permission slip is required for your child to receive the Center van transportation.
Nutrition
Breakfast will be served from 7:15 to 8:00 am. If your child arrives after this time, please be sure that he or she has already had breakfast. A nutritious morning and afternoon snack will be provided for all children. A breakfast and snack menu will be posted monthly.
Lunch is NOT provided by the center. Children will need to bring their lunch. The Center will provide milk at lunchtime. Please be sure that your child's lunch is in a lunch box or bag that is clearly marked with their name. A refrigerator and a microwave are available for storing and heating food.
It is extremely important that you keep the Director and your child's teacher informed of allergies or food reactions your child may have experienced.
