A little about CCCC

Our childcare program was created by the congregation of Christ Reformed United Church of Christ to fulfill a community need for working parents by providing a safe and educational environment for their children.

Christ Church Children's Center is licensed by the Maryland State Department of Education, Office of Child Care. Maintaining our license requires that strict guidelines be met. Room size, nutrition, children's health forms, fire regulations, activities, staff qualification and outdoor safety are all monitored for your child's protection.

Christ Church Children's Center has a MD State Fully Accredited preschool program. Accreditation by the Maryland State Department of Education requires additional training by all degreed teachers, as well as those working towards a degree in elementary or early childhood education. Teachers are required to be credentialed by MSDE, Maryland Child Care Administration's Office of Credentialing.

Our History

In 1998 Christ Reformed UCC, sensing the need for support for families in the Middletown Valley area, established the Christ Church Children's Center to provide a creative and caring learning environment for children. Our desire was to develop a children's educational program that wouldn't simply babysit young people in the community. The church hoped the Center would encourage the development of the whole child: mind, body and spirit. Through the efforts of many church volunteers and with the financial support of the congregation, the Center welcomed its first students in September of that year. Initially the Center offered only a before and after school program. Soon the program offerings expanded to provide early learning classes and all day child care. Our congregation views this as a ministry of the church and is eager to welcome Center families into its worship, education, fellowship and service life. The Center respects and supports the religious diversity of families who enroll children, but its values grow out of the faith tradition of Christ Reformed UCC. You are invited to learn more about the church using the link below, or by contacting one of the pastors. Our partnership with the home and community helps strengthen personal and social development, language and literacy, math, science, art and social studies skills, physical well-being as well as spiritual growth.
